Following the Nike Air Presto’s explosive market revival in the middle of the 2010s, ACRONYM’s collaboration with the brand helped the mid-top construction of the shoe become a mainstay in streetwear rotations in 2016. And although though the silhouette has been imitated for more than 20 years, its most basic products nevertheless give the phrase “a t-shirt for your feet” new vitality.
The all-black silhouette is highlighted by the neoprene forefoot
Identical to the composition used for its low-top silhouette in early 2021, the pair bears no color, coating everything from its neoprene forefoot to its duo of pull-tabs in the pitch-dark ensemble. In contrast to the aforementioned pair’s usage of a shiny patent mudguard, the Air Presto Mid Utility maintains a conservative appearance with a muted finish and semi-translucent heel counter. A seldom sample of suede equips the ankle’s locking zipper and surrounding tightly knit collar construct for a proposition unafraid of getting a bit scuffed up, with a murdered-out sole unit that joins to its color-matched forefoot caging.
The Nike Air Presto Mid Utility is more subdued than recent utility offerings. It’s refreshing to see that this model’s design and colors maintain a modest look while retaining the Air Presto’s signature attributes.
