Smiley faces appeared on the Nike Air Force 1 infrequently but effectively last year, and the NSW division has found new inspiration in a winking face placed on the pastel-hued PLT-AF-FORM structure.
The leather upper makes the sneaker more versatile
Across the pair’s smooth leather upper panels, ever-so-light lilac colors enact a near-clad construction, delivering a lightened color-match along its laces, tongue, and nylon sock liner, extending the purple-hued palette. The midfoot cut-out paneling, which resembles a secondary Swoosh, is encased in a brighter lavender that also dresses the medial sides connected Swoosh. Shifted suede Swooshes underpin the shape with an eye-catching inclusion of navy blue, which closes with the winky face positioned along the heel tabs in a minor departure from the tonal execution.
Overall, the PLT-AF-FORM is a classy and adaptable take on the Air Force 1 that is not too overdone thanks to a color palette that does not overwhelm the simplistically styled silhouette. This allows the shoe to be worn with a variety of different outfits and occasions.
