Due to the huge number of Nike Air Force 1 40th anniversary items manufactured this year, further mini collections have continued to enter the fold. Like the summer releases and the impending Undefeated collaboration, the latest low-cut of Bruce Kilgore’s signature design features patent leather.
This new color scheme is classy and refined
Like its predecessors, the crinkled leather structure has a glossy texture throughout, with whites filling the vamp, mudguard, quarter overlay, tongue construction, and midfoot. A sparkling jet black Swoosh joins the colorless first half of the model with the heel’s “Light Iron Ore” hue, which also covers the rear tab and a single line across the white midsole devoid of any “AIR” branding. A title “Team Red” gives rare touches to the tongue tab and embroidered “NIKE AIR” emblem whose typography echoes the AF1 “Color of the Month” collection.
It is possible to say that the “Light Iron Ore” colorway of the Air Force 1 is unlike any other colorway in the history of the shoe, primarily as a result of the usage of patent leather. An absolute original take on a tried-and-true standard is what you get here.
