The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 isn’t Nike Running’s newest or best shoe, but it’s a favorite among runners. In 2018, a collaboration with Samuel Ross’ A-COLD-WALL* imprint gave the 2010 proposition some street cred, which is probably why the Swoosh will bring back the sneaker.
The new model offers enough improvements to merit an update
The Nike Zoom Vomero series started out in 2006 as a double-cushioned running shoe for people with high arches in their feet. It is now in its 16th version. Even though the latest version of the line has better ZoomX foam and a Zoom Air unit in the forefoot, it may not look as good as the Zoom Vomero 5, which has a more rugged look thanks to its mesh upper and Cushlon midsole. As shown by the upcoming “Cobblestone” and “Light Bone” designs, the “busy” design makes it possible to mix and match colors and patterns in a more casual way than in the newer Running series.
The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 has a smooth ride, and thanks to its high performance, it’s also one of the best-looking sneakers we’ve seen in years. It’s a good choice for runners who need to go fast, but casual runners will love how it looks.
