Whether you despise or adore it, the Nike SNKRS app has transformed the world of sneakers and the culture that surrounds them. Over the last few years, the Swoosh has celebrated SNKRS Day – a fictitious holiday filled with unique releases on the platform – on Aug. 8. Nike Korea will release a limited edition Air Jordan 1 Low for the occasion in 2023.

The simple shoe harkens back to the original construction’s version
The unpublished pair, dressed in an unobtrusive blend of grey, brown, and off-white tones, does not pay homage to the Asian powerhouse in the same way that previous swoosh and Jumpman-branded products have. Materials used throughout the sneaker’s upper (which, according to specifications on the tongue labels’ undersides, is manufactured in Indonesia) depart from the basic build of the original Air Jordan, emphasizing the silhouette’s lifestyle focus. The sole pieces are an appealing two-tone arrangement topped off by a fan-favorite gum brown outsole, a summer staple. Finally, the magpie, South Korea’s national bird, replaces “Wings” branding on the left shoe’s heel, adding to the NIKE, Inc. goods inspired by the country.
